In today’s competitive college admissions scene, preparing has become more critical than ever. OneGoal is a gateway to preparing for college and serves as a pivotal stepping stone for students aiming to succeed and prosper in college.
OneGoal is a 3-year program starting from junior year in high school all the way to freshman year in college. They help you research college programs and figure out which path to take to flourish. The dedication follows all the way to your college years, Mr. Personette; he helps with the financial side and helps get scholarships.
As a junior, you are already halfway through your high school experience, and it’s time to start thinking about college because it’s well known that your junior year is the year most looked at by college recruiters. OneGoal is an elective that prepares you and gives you the opportunity to research which college you want to go to and submit it earlier than other students. ¨ During my junior year, I did all my research and preparation, so I wasn’t caught off guard during my senior year.
Myussar Rasulova , a current senior, finished her personal statement and my CUNY College application a month before the due date. Speaking about the lasting impact of the program, Rasulova said “People think that John Dewey ends when you Graduate. OneGoal shows the principles commitment to the students not just in school, but after school. “
OneGoal teacher Mr. Personette weighs in on the unique services that are offered through the program, saying “[OneGoal] shows the commitment to students prosperity and their future so they can succeed. Other schools focus on the students when they’re in the school, but OneGoal follows you through your life.” His dedication is shown through his commitment to the students and making sure that every student will not have any regrets.
As a senior, OneGoal provides scholarship opportunities and lots of visits from college recruiters. They also plan many trips to college in the state and even other states, like UTI, a technical institute in many locations, the closest one being to OneGoal.
Senior Mukhammed Alijonv spoke about how OneGoal empowers student voice, explaining ¨I was interested in a technical institute, so after the UTI recruiter came and talked about the school, we asked Mr.Personette if we were able to visit the campus and see how college life is there.”
Mr. Personette will be your advocate. If you have a problem with a teacher, dean, or someone else, he will help you solve it and find a way to get you what you need. He will help with your transcript and schedule so your classes match the major you are going for. That is the reason why so many college kids who are OneGoal alumni come to talk about their experience in college, and how OneGoal helped them.
Other than being a college preparation course, OneGoal is also known for its amenities. For example, there’s a kitchen in the back with a fridge, a microwave, and a waterjug that you can fill up your bottles with. There is also a hanger room to keep your jackets and other large bags instead of carrying them out. They sell chips and have free cookies and apples for any student who is there. Saving the best for last- they also have a room with a chair and sofa to relax in instead of going to the noisy cafeteria.
OneGoal may require some more work, but overall, you will not regret joining it and becoming a member. This will not only be a place to prepare you for college but a safe place to relax from the rest of your classes.
