Renowned rapper Drake announces his new tour “It’s All a Blur — Big As The What?” to set off in January 2024, featuring the notorious rapper J.Cole. Recently finishing 72 shows across the U.S with well known artist 21 Savage, Drake continuously beats records with his creativity and engagement. Following his recent release of his new album “For All The Dogs”, one of the songs named “First Person Shooter” features J. Cole which charted #1.

It is no secret that these two are well acquainted in the industry as they have had several songs together. Their first song was made in 2011 in J. Cole’s album “Cole World: The Sideline Story”. Twelve years later, both artists are still on the road to produce upcoming hits that will alter the trajectory of the music industry. Their upcoming tour proves this right, as they are forming two shows in New York during march 2024, one being in Buffalo while the other is in Long Island.

When asked  Ms.Amato about the price of one ticket, she said, “Tickets are way too expensive for one person, if the tickets were below 200 that would be more reasonable.” Asked if J.Cole is a good match to collaborate with, she answered, “Maybe not for the whole tour, they don’t give off the same vibe. It was strange seeing them announced together. I think 21 Savage made more sense.” Declaring locations of the tour to her, she answered ,”Ew, they’re in Buffalo?”

Asking Mr.Inoa, a journalism teacher, about his opinion on the concert, he told us “I’m a Drake fan, I know some lyrics to J.Cole, but I feel as if he’s more of a storyteller. Meanwhile, Drake is legit singing his heart out and rapping on his albums. To me that is range, Drake is more of a scene-setter. He popularized these collaboration tapes, which shook the music industry when it came out. Now it’s such a common thing to do a tape together with artists, which comes from the influence of Drake.”

He has not heard about the price of tickets, saying, “No, but I can guess that they were expensive based on his reputation and name. I would say I’m not surprised about the price of the tickets, seeing about 100 concerts and having experience in seeing music live, I know how popular Drake is so I’m not shocked. It doesn’t make sense but companies like Ticketmaster realized after COVID that people will buy tickets no matter how much they are. People want something so they will buy it. I would pay 150 to see Drake. I don’t think that it’s a realistic possibility, I was lucky to see Drake live, but I was given the ticket as a gift.”

He too agreed that J.Cole is a good match for Drake, telling, “I think he is, demographics match up to me. 18-30 year old knows both these men on name recognition and music, he’s the right match. You would make more sold tickets with him based on his name than another artist.”

About the location of the New York tours being in Buffalo and Long Island, he stated “What??? I guess it doesn’t make sense to me. You could be at Madison, Barclays , one underrated thing about NYC is the music stadiums. And you’re gonna go to Long island and Buffalo? When compared to the population of NYC and how popular they are in these cities, it makes less sense to go there. That will be a deciding factor for people who live in the city, because they can’t commute such long hours for one night, so a lot of people won’t go.”

When asked August Bailey, a senior, about how he feels about the price of the tickets being $400-$600 for one ticket, he strongly answered “I feel that its preposterous, no normal person could afford that. But I do think J.Cole is the right match for Drake, they are good rappers. They also had a great song together on Drake’s new album and it was great. I’m a big fan of J.Cole, more so than Drake. He’s a storyteller, a true writer with great rhyme schemes. He’s my top 5 rapper of all time, in fact, he’s number 3.”
