Although Maram Mohamed has been involved with sports, extracurriculars, and the rigorous Pre-Med academy since 2021, she was surprised to learn that she’d be receiving an award, and had been invited to Senior Award Night 2025.
“I did tennis and lacrosse freshman year…sophomore year I did volunteering and clubs…and during junior year and senior year I did more internships.” Maram Mohamed, a pre-med senior, said.
This year’s award night will take place on May 28, 2025, giving the current seniors an opportunity to be celebrated for their accomplishments.
Obviously for seniors, senior award night is a time for celebration. Awards such as chancellor’s honor roll of leadership and JROTC honored cadet are given out to those who qualified. This event is a time to honor seniors for their achievements throughout their four years of high school.

Unlike senior award night 2024, the auditorium will serve as the space for this year’s event. The previous class had their night held in the school cafeteria because the auditorium was still under construction.
However, this year, with the auditorium being complete, senior award night is scheduled there. Having the ceremony in the auditorium is a big upgrade from last year’s cafeteria arrangement. It is, in general, a more formal and spacious area to hold a ceremony that celebrates one’s academic performance.
“This year we can be in a space that looks presentable. I’m very excited.” Said Ms. Doceti. Doceti reflected on the previous year’s spot and shared her excitement for a bigger and better location to hold the event.
Momna Asghar, a senior, was honored with the NYC Comptroller Brad Lander Student Achievement Award for her hard work, leadership, and academic success. She said, “I was surprised but really honored. It felt like a big accomplishment.”
Asghar credits her parents and friends for their support but added, “At the end of the day, I was my biggest supporter,” because she pushed herself through many challenges.
Her advice to other students is simple: “Don’t wait for things to happen, go after what you want. And don’t be afraid to ask questions.” To stay motivated, Momma keeps her goals clear and tries to avoid procrastinating. “Just study and keep going,” she said.
